Welcome to the Moorcock Inn at Garsdale

Ideally situated at the tip of Wensleydale in the heart of some of the most beautiful walking country in England. We offer a warm and friendly welcome to locals and visitors alike.

Standing on the A684, 5 miles from Hawes and 10 miles from Sedbergh, the Moorcock's old white walls are a welcome sight for any weary and thirsty traveller. On stepping inside, its unique combination of old world charm and youthful flair has created a Yorkshire Dales retreat that people continue to visit again and again.

Another fantastic weekend spent at the Moorock with great food and excellent hosts that really made us feel welcome. The perfect place to stay for anyone who likes the countryside!

Once again The Moorcock delivered all that is great in a country pub. Great food, friendly staff, homely surroundings and a great family friendly environment. A family celebration was a great success and all my family and friends had a very enjoyable afternoon.

Cosy, welcoming, highly enjoyable experience. Lovely food and staff could not have been more helpful: boxing up children's uneaten sandwiches and letting us pore over their OS maps while we planned our afternoon walk.

The food was amazing and plentiful. The menu was extensive. We will definitely return to work our way through the menu. We visited August, they had the fire on as it was a chilly evening. It will be so cosy in the dark winter nights.

Excellent food and would highly return in the future. Some lovely waterfalls in the area. Hellgill Force and Garsdale.

The beer is good and the food is excellent. There is plenty of it too - on several occasions I have had a starter and a main course and then struggled to finish - but done so because the food is so good!!

The Moorcock Inn is how all pubs should be. Welcoming, friendly, efficient and serving lovely food beautifully cooked and from a very interesting menu not often that I find it really difficult to decide but there were lots of dishes I would have like to have tried.

I have eaten here a number of times over the last 4 years.. it is a pub full of character and with friendly staff. The food has always been of a very high standard. Good quality ingrediants cooked to perfection.

Game stew i recomend here, good food and served with a smile! I did a walk to here and got the little white bus back to Hawes for pennies.

The atmosphere is classically country-pub cozy, the locally brewed cask ales were excellent and well-kept, and the food was way beyond "pub grub", well-prepared and imaginative (particularly the specials).
